Member of the Board
Mighty Hero Home Foundation, a Georgia based 501(c)3 organization dedicated to ending America’s epidemic of Veteran homelessness, is honored & proud to announce that JoAnne (Jo) Bass, Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force (Ret.), has agreed to join the foundation’s Board as a Director. In Chief Bass’ role, she will help to shape the strategic direction of the organization, will be an influencer in recruiting others to join in the fight & will be involved in the movement of Mighty Hero Homes leading the way to equip & enable a coalition of the willing to follow a turnkey plan/process to permanently house homeless veterans in their cities and communities. (Together and aligned, we will accomplish far more than any one entity can on their own & when we don’t care who receives the credit, greatness can be achieved.)
“Mighty Hero Homes considers ourselves extremely fortunate that Chief Bass shares in our passionate belief that no service members should be left behind and that affordable, permanent homes for our Veterans is the only viable, scalable and executable model to end this egregious crisis and stain on our nation”, says Drew Walston, Founder & CEO of Mighty Hero Homes. “Her presence & contributions will be felt immediately as we enter into new phases of development & leadership roles in the Veteran homelessness space”, Walston continued.
Chief Bass served in the highest enlisted level of leadership in the Air Force and, as such, provided direction for the enlisted force, representing their interests, as appropriate, to the American public and to those in all levels of government. She served as the personal adviser to the Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the Air Force on all issues regarding the welfare, readiness, morale, & proper utilization and progress of more than 689,000 Total Force Airmen. Chief Bass was the 19th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force to be appointed to and serve in the highest noncommissioned officer position in the Air Force. She was also the first woman to hold the highest senior enlisted rank in any United States military branch. ͘ She had significant joint service & special operations experience and participated in several operations & exercises as well as deployments in direct support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM.
Of her role with Mighty Hero Homes, Chief Bass shared “I couldn’t be more honored to join this team, roll my sleeves up and do my part to help eradicate veteran homelessness. The MHH team has a strong, scalable, national solution to ensure every veteran who has honorably served their nation has a place to call home.”
Chief Bass can be reached at Jo.Bass@MightyHeroHomes.org. Please join me in thanking Chief Bass for her 31 years of dedicated service to our great nation & congratulating her on this new assignment.
Everyone can help in some way.
